Examples of DutiesResponsibilities include:
- Coordinate community engagement events involving the Community and the Police Department.
- Conducting employee background investigations and receiving evidence and found property.
- Creates, coordinates, and oversees the crime prevention activities for the department, such as Block Watch Business Watch, and various presentations.
- Serving as Public Information Officers for the department and compose press releases. Handling lobby calls and other non-emergent calls for service. Interacts with sworn Police personnel, victims, offenders, suspects, and the general public.
- Understanding and adhering to municipal, state and federal laws, policies and procedures.
- Using the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) in the performance of duties.
Typical QualificationRequirements:
- High school diploma, or GED and two (2) years of directly related experience in regulator or enforcement duties or any equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License and ability to pass a pre-employment background including driving record.
- Working knowledge of police methods and procedures including patrol, crime prevention, traffic control, investigation and identification techniques, equipment, police records and reports.
- Ability to make appropriate judgements based on available information within established procedures.
