    THE POSITION:
    We invite you to join the high performing team at the Town of Prescott Valley, serving as a Community Services Specialist within the Police Department. If you have a desire to serve the community in which you live, apply now.

    Examples of Duties

    Responsibilities include:
    • Coordinate community engagement events involving the Community and the Police Department.
    • Conducting employee background investigations and receiving evidence and found property.
    • Creates, coordinates, and oversees the crime prevention activities for the department, such as Block Watch Business Watch, and various presentations.
    • Serving as Public Information Officers for the department and compose press releases. Handling lobby calls and other non-emergent calls for service. Interacts with sworn Police personnel, victims, offenders, suspects, and the general public.
    • Understanding and adhering to municipal, state and federal laws, policies and procedures.
    • Using the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) in the performance of duties.


    Typical Qualification

    Requirements:
    • High school diploma, or GED and two (2) years of directly related experience in regulator or enforcement duties or any equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
    • Possession of a valid Driver's License and ability to pass a pre-employment background including driving record.
    • Working knowledge of police methods and procedures including patrol, crime prevention, traffic control, investigation and identification techniques, equipment, police records and reports.
    • Ability to make appropriate judgements based on available information within established procedures.

    • Disability Insurance: Town provided personal illness or injury short and long term disability benefits with 50% and 60% lost wages replacement respectively.
    • Workers' Compensation: Provides 100% lost wages and related medical benefits as for on the job work related illness or injuries.
    • Retirement Plans: ASRS Arizona State Retirement
    • MediCare:While the Town provides the required contributions towards MediCare we do not participate in Social Security.
    • State Unemployment: State mandated coverage is provided.
    • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Free counseling and referral services for employees and their immediate families is provided for financial planning, legal services, depression, substance abuse, family/marital and other relationship issues.
    • Fit for Life Wellness Program: The Town is dedicated to providing a safe and healthy workplace for all employees. Participation is strictly voluntary and offers $200 participation incentive.
    • Direct Deposit: Paychecks are deposited directly into the employee's bank account(s) on a bi-weekly schedule.
