    The Position

    Custodial Workers perform general cleaning services to State facilities using various cleaning equipment and materials to provide a safe, hygienic and orderly work environment.

The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is currently recruiting for Custodial Worker 2 in Carson City. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the following program: Sierra Regional Center.

    This position is within the State Public Works Division, Buildings & Grounds Section, located in Carson City. This position works under general supervision, in addition to performing a range of duties described in the series concept, repair and service custodial equipment such as vacuum cleaners; may remove snow from walkways, driveways or parking lots; and report building and security deficiencies. Incumbent may be designated as lead person for the purpose of work assignments; and keep an inventory of equipment and supplies needed. Maintain required inventory logs and supplies used, complete required forms.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment; OR six months of general work experience and one year of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment; OR six months of experience as a Custodial Worker I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Notes Incumbents may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in addition to their normal work schedules. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
