    The Position

    Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.

    Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. OR Incumbents perform basic tasks or elements of the job not requiring the additional knowledge, skills and abilities to perform at the next level in the series.

    The Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health (SNAMHS) is recruiting for a Clinical Social Worker I at Mesquite Behavioral Health Center in Mesquite, Nevada. This recruitment is used to underfill a Clinical Social Worker II. Duties include overseeing the delivery of professional services, responsibility for staff coverage, space and equipment needs, budget development and monitoring, developing policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, program guidelines, and agency policy. Positions at this level receive direct supervision while performing all or part of the duties described in the series concept. This is a full-time position that may include weekend and holiday shifts. Incumbents will be working an innovative variable schedule with overtime after 40 hours in a week.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work and an internship approved by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers. Special Notes Must be in or eligible for an internship for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers, or must hold a license in the State of Nevada as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for fingerprinting. A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
