    This position will work with the Human Resources Employee Relations and Leave Management Teams at Austin Resource Recovery.

    Top candidate must possess discretion in handling details of a highly confidential and sensitive nature. They should be collaborative, as well as assertive and confident and model professional demeanor and integrity. The successful candidate will act as an extension of the Human Resources team and must demonstrate a strong sense of urgency. They must also have the ability to prioritize and manage competing demands and deadlines in a fast paced environment.

    They may also be asked to assist with other areas of Human Resources including providing support in the employment area of Human Resources, data entry, running Human Resource Reports, special projects and other support functions.

    Other Duties Include:
    The primary function of this position is to support the Employee Relations and Leave Management Unit of the ARR HR Division. Recommend changes to methods, operations, sequences and set procedures for work assigned. Analyze and interpret data and prepare reports. Verify the accuracy and completeness of various reports. Compose, format, finalize, interpret, distribute, research, compile, calculate, analyze, process and maintain data in various forms using a variety of office equipment and software applications, including spreadsheets and databases. Maintain case logs, certification documents and additional files as needed. Will work closely with four Human Resource Advisors in the areas of FMLA , Workers Compensation and Employee Relations. Schedule and coordinate leadership meetings as well as take meeting minutes. Other duties as determined by HR Supervisor.

    $24.89 - $29.18

    Preferred Experience:
    • Exceptional organization and time management experience
    • Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office, and related business and communication tools. Demonstrated advanced experience with Microsoft Excel

    • Experience compiling and preparing reports for review by management.

    Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

    Assists in implementing, administering, and evaluating HR programs. Assists in developing and implementing systems, policies, procedures, strategies, and process work flows for use within departments. Provides information to employees in assigned area(s) of responsibility, and conducts basic research and makes appropriate recommendations based on findings. Provides advice and counsel to management and other employee groups related to compliance with and the communication, interpretation, and implementation of City personnel policies and other relevant employment laws and regulations. Assists in solving HR problems, creating best practices, making recommendations, and monitoring implementation of agreed-upon actions until the problem has been resolved. Researches information as requested and/or needed; compiles data; and writes informational memos, letters, reports, forms, plans, documents, and queries using computer, spreadsheets, databases, or presentation software. Assists in the analysis of morale indicators such as but not limited to surveys, turnover, and grievances; and presents recommendations within the area of specialization for corrective action when needed. Collaborates and participates on teams with HR and other stakeholders.
