    SPAN 102: Beginning Spanish
    • Position: Lecturer
    • Semester: Fall 2024
    • Day/Time: Two (2) sections available: (1) Tuesday and Thursdays, from 4:00 to 5:15 p.m.; (2) Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m.
    • Modality: In-person

    The Department of Modern Language Studies at California State University San Marcos seeks part-time lecturer(s) for Fall 2024 to teach SPAN 102: Beginning Spanish. Two sections available.

    Course Description:

    Continuation of SPAN 101 . Further study of the Spanish language and Spanish-speaking cultures, with emphasis on the development of communicative skills and basic structures.

    Minimum qualifications:
    • A master's degree in Spanish
    • Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.

    Preferred qualifications:
    • ABD or doctorate degree in the language of instruction
    • Experience teaching at the college/university level
    • Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and/or intercultural competence with diverse groups in relation to teaching.

    Salary commensurate with degree level and experience
    • Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,007 - $8,000 per full-time month
    • CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,007 - $12,594 per full-time month
