    Internal Lateral Transfer and Voluntary Demotion application requests:
    Applications for lateral transfers and voluntary demotions are accepted on a continuous basis and will be active for one (1) year from the application received date. Our recommendation is to submit an application if you think you might be interested, even if there is no current vacancy. Your application and resume should contain the most up-to-date and accurate information regarding your work history. T ransfer requests must be submitted before recruitment opens to be considered.

    Lateral Transfer:

    The permanent change in assignment from one position to another with the same salary range for which you meet the minimum qualifications.

    Voluntary Demotion:

    The permanent change in assignment from one position to another with a lower salary range for which you meet the minimum qualifications.

    What happens after I submit an application for a lateral transfer or a voluntary demotion:
    Once you have completed and submitted your application, Human Resources will review and minimally qualify you for the position(s) you indicated an interest in. When we receive an approved P-2 for recruitment, we will check the transfer list before opening a recruitment, and refer the names of those employees who have requested a transfer and have an approved transfer request to the hiring manager. Departments are required to consider those transfer requests but are not required to agree to the transfer.

    In order to transfer , there must be an approved P-2 on file. P-2's listed below are currently open for Transfer or Demotion:

    Faculty P-2s:
    • Disabilities Specialist (199-Day)
    CSEA P-2s:
    • Administrative Secretary III (ARTS) (CSEA Range 24)
    • Clerk II (SHC) (CSEA Range 10)
    • Instructional Aide Reading & Writing (CSEA Range 17)
    • IT Support Specialist (2 positions) (CSEA Range 27)
    • Lab Tech - BCIS (CSEA Range 22)
    • Lab Tech - Health Occupations (CSEA Range 22)

    The College is home to 25,000 solar panels and has the ability to generate 6.4 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year or 4.5 megawatts DC – enough to power over 920 homes.
