Several seasonal positions available with the Parks & Recreation Department, Administrative Division located at 4600 E. 63rd St Salary Range: $13.11-$18.88/hour Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., may include evenings or weekends Application Deadline Date: June 1, 2020 Responsibilities Gain valuable experience as an Intern in the Parks & Recreation Department! Tours different divisions of the department, gaining a holistic view of the field. Carries out a project under the guidance of a supervisor in the areas of recreation, park maintenance, forestry, park planning, or parks administration. Examples of projects could include (but are not limited to): recreation program development and implementation; surveying parks & park amenities; working with City Foresters; and working with Landscape Architects in the area of park development. Qualifications REQUIRES 60 credit hours completed from an accredited college or university. Preference given for course work in recreation, leisure studies, sports management, environmental studies, conservation, natural resources management, kinesiology, physical therapy, planning, engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, public administration, or a related field. Unless otherwise stated, the requirement of "an accredited" degree includes only those degrees obtained from colleges or universities listed with the U. S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
