As a Principal Environmental Specialist, you will serve as a highly technical expert for development and implementation of the Webb Tract Rice Conversion and the Webb Tract Wetland Habitat Restoration Projects that focus on sustainable land management in the Delta region. The projects include design, preparation of environmental documentation, permitting, and construction of up to 3,500 acres of wetland and up to 1,500 acres of rice, including some upland habitat that will meet the goals of the project, which include reducing or reversing subsidence, stopping greenhouse gas emissions, generating carbon credits, creating habitat, and developing a long-term management plan. This is a grant-funded, three (3) year Limited-Term Employment position. This position works under the supervision of the Manager of Bay-Delta programs and collaborates with Bay-Delta staff who investigate, develop, and implement habitat restoration projects on specific sites in the Bay-Delta region. The position will also collaborate with other key internal staff and consultants on engineering design, environmental compliance, regulatory permitting efforts, and sustainable agricultural practices. Key responsibilities include project management, project development, assessing environmental issues and determining compliance requirements; assessing resource needs, establishing priorities and schedules, cost estimation, grant administration including budget tracking and reporting, and directing staff and consultants to accomplish work requirements, coordinating landowner outreach, permit implementation, construction oversight, data management and reporting, and communications with partner organizations and agencies. The SSS program is a five-year grant (2020-2025), renewable annually. It provides undergraduate students with disabilities non-mandated support services, including academic advising, career planning, subject specific tutoring, scholarship guidance, graduate school advising, personal wellness counseling, assistive technology training, academic and personal skills building workshops, and financial aid and personal finance education support. The purpose of this program is to provide services to increase retention, student GPAs and graduation rates of students with disabilities. Under the general direction of the Director, the Project IMPACT Program Coordinator is responsible for implementing and monitoring all mandated services under the program, as well as providing direct service support in the above referenced areas. The Program Coordinator will be required to monitor the budget and ensure all program activities remain within grant-mandated limits; ensure all policies and procedures are followed as outlined in Federal, State and University guidelines in daily operations and decisions; conduct workshops in the areas of academic skills building, personal finance, financial aid, wellness, and assistive technology as mandated by the approved grant; and maintain all data, records and reports required by the grant program, including the Annual Performance Report, Annual Student Survey, and Graduation/Retention reports. It provides undergraduate students with disabilities non-mandated support services, including academic advising, career planning, subject specific tutoring, scholarship guidance, graduate school advising, personal wellness counseling, assistive technology training, academic and personal skills building workshops, and financial aid and personal finance education support. The purpose of this program is to provide services to increase retention, student GPAs and graduation rates of students with disabilities. Under the general direction of the Director, the Project IMPACT Program Coordinator is responsible for implementing and monitoring all mandated services under the program, as well as providing direct service support in the above referenced areas.
