Internship available with the Conventions & Entertainment Facilities Department located at 301 West 13th Street Salary Range: $18.00/hour Normal Work Days/Hours: Varies between Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Application Deadline Date: March 1, 2024 Responsibilities The Convention and Entertainment Facilities Department's ideal internship candidate should be eager to learn about the Events Industry.¿¿ The candidate should be willing to take instruction from Convention Center staff to assist in all aspects of event planning and event implementation.¿ Knowledge of computer software and Microsoft Suite is preferred.¿ This position requires a flexible schedule, and the ability to stand for periods of time, walking distances, possess the ability to push/pull and lift up to 30 pounds.¿ Scope of ¿Duties for The Convention and Entertainment Facilities Department Internship: Assist Event Management Team with document completion: Event Manifests AutoCAD Diagrams Security Grind Notes Changeover Sheets Parking Permit Requests End of Shift Reports Punch Lists Temporary Signage Spreadsheets/Word Documents/Etc. Assist Event Management Team with on-site event management: Checking Room Sets Moving/Delivering Small Equipment Responding to Clients Hanging Temporary Signage Checking Items/Areas for Accuracy Responding to Radio Calls Observe and Learn: Attend Site Visits Attend Pre-Cons Participate in Phone Calls and Meetings Shadow Staff from other Divisions (Sales / Marketing / Box Office / Accounting) Event Management Successfully Manage at Least (1) Event as Primary Event Manager Qualifications REQUIRES high school diploma or GED and enrollment in an accredited college, university, or trade school.
