About the Position: The Contracts and Procurement department provides the campus community with cost efficient and effective handling of acquisitions and contracting needs in accordance with State laws and CSU policies. Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Contracts and Procurement, the Contract Specialist is responsible for preparing highly complex contracts and/or coordination of a specific purchasing function, including independent problem solving for major purchasing campus wide. These responsibilities include assistance with long-term planning, policy recommendations, and/or procedural changes for a particular functional area. The main focus of the Contracts Specialist will be the processing of affiliation agreements, including nursing, teaching, and clinical agreements, service learning, Memorandums of Understanding (MOU's), assisting with minor construction/public works projects, architecture, and engineering agreements. In addition, the Contracts Specialist will be responsible for administering all aspects of the IFB and Request for Proposal (RFP) solicitation processes such as project job walks, bidder's conferences, evaluation of bids and contractor management; and service agreements terms and conditions writing and assisting departments to write specifications. The Contracts Specialist will also be expected to procure goods and services, and other associated purchasing activities. The Contract Specialist is the highest technical specialist for agreements, contracts, consortium projects, public works, repair projects, Insurance matters, and annual reporting.
