The Position It is the role of the Supervising Mental Health Counselor II to provide direct crisis services, coordinate care for clients, provide leadership, and clinical direction for the Mobile Response Team (MRT). This position is primarily responsible for the supervision of the mobile crisis response program and staff; triages and deploys to mental health crisis calls from the community and law enforcement. They conduct clinical assessments, de-escalate critical situations, write 5150/5585 holds, complete timely and accurate clinical documentation, and provide linkage to relevant services in our community for stabilization, treatment and further support. The Mental Health Mobile Response Team Supervisor also serves as a liaison with other program units within the Mental Health Division, with partner divisions within HHSA, as well as with community partner agencies, medical providers, and community members. OR Two years of professional mental health counseling experience with one year in an administrative, supervisory or lead capacity in the mental health field. Education: Master's or doctorate degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field approved by the State of California Board of Behavioral Sciences to provide psychotherapy. At this level, incumbents work independently and perform complex, technical clinical work providing specialized clinical consultation and supervision. Incumbents provide the appropriate clinical supervision and possesses the necessary specific experience in the area assigned. Mental Health Clinician III positions provide supervision across more than one program and regularly meets with the BHRS Workforce Development and Training Manager, Chief Operations Officer and Chief Fiscal and Administrative Officer for the purpose of oversight and problem solving. Incumbents have a reduced clinical caseload in proportion to a clinical supervision caseload.
