Financial Support Specialist I - County Treasurer

Description

The Financial Support Specialist I performs highly responsible administrative and technical duties to support the activities of the department.

Examples of Duties

Answers telephone and greet visitors; provides information or refers inquiries to appropriate personnel; routes incoming calls and records messages; responds to emails and faxes as necessary.

Utilizes computerized data entry equipment and various word processing and file maintenance programs to enter, store, and/or retrieve information; maintains pertinent files and records; scans and copies documents as necessary; ensures files are complete and accurate.

Processes ingoing and outgoing mail, including preparing photocopies and collating materials; distributes mail to appropriate department or employee.

Regular and punctual attendance is required.
Creates check and EFT receipts as required.

Verifies daily deposits; makes deposits for checks and cash as necessary; runs accounts payable checks.

Assists with coding sick, vacation, personal, and comp hours as necessary.

Orders and stocks supplies for the office as necessary.

Assists employees with filling out direct deposit forms and other miscellaneous forms.
Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED and minimum one year of experience in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience required.

Family Medical Leave:Denton Countyemployees who have been employed for one year and who have worked 1250 hours in the preceding year may be eligible for up to twelve weeks of FMLA leave.
The FMLA provides for up to 12 weeks of job-protected leave

• to care for a child, spouse, or parent with a serious health condition
• for an employee with a serious health condition
