Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution in Computer Science or related field.
- Five years' experience in systems analysis or design, testing and implementation of computer-based information systems and project management experience working on multiple projects and assignments simultaneously required.
- Any equivalent combination of education and/or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements- Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver's license with no major citations within the past 39 months prior to the start date. The Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles requires that out-of-state driver's licenses must be surrendered within 10 days of relocating to the State of Arizona.
- Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on division/department/service assignment.
Essential Functions- Supports the city mobile, public access and enterprise wireless networks. This includes software and server support for wireless provisioning, security and access systems.
- Plans, manages and supports the city's fiber optic and copper communications infrastructure.
- Manages and coordinates the IT Communications infrastructure for new city facilities and major tenant improvements. This includes reviewing building plans and providing input to architects, contractors and city staff.
- Manages and coordinates network communications integration projects with city IT staff, outside vendors and departmental business experts.
- Provides budgetary information for IT infrastructure projects, develops lists of materials and specifications.
- Supports the development of moderate-level technical specifications for the design or purchase of communications equipment including fiber optic systems, high-speed cable, data switches and routers, voice (VoIP), and related equipment: evaluates communications products.
- Performs tasks in determining project resources, deliverable dates and standards.
