    Duties Description

    Under the direction of the Training Specialist 1, SG-18, for the Marine Services Unit, Albany Office, the selected candidate will provide general office and clerical assistance. Duties include, but are not limited to:
    • Provide general office support tasks including filing, copying, and scanning documents
    • Operate standard office equipment, including computers, printers, scanners, and copiers
    • Assist the Administrative Assistant by supporting activities directly related to: inventory management, pool vehicle usage, and shipping and receiving materials
    • Assist in maintaining and taking physical inventory of boating materials and supplies
    • Assist in answering the phone and responding to general boating inquiries. Refer inquiries to the appropriate personnel as necessary
    • Assist in receiving, picking up, delivering, opening, appropriately recording and time stamping, sorting, and distributing office mail
    • Pack and process outgoing mail and shipments
    • Receive, unload, unpack, sort, store, count, and distribute goods received
    • Maintain, update, and correct both paper and electronic records and/or files
    • Create, update, and maintain records information in spreadsheets and databases
    • As needed and as directed, contact various internal and external parties to obtain information
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace

    OPERATING NEEDS:
    • Candidate must have the physical ability to perform light to medium lifting.
    • Candidate must have basic computer knowledge in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and preferably Microsoft Access.
