Salary Range: $58,023 - $83,784 (commensurate with experience and education)
Job Location: This position will be located at Harry S Truman State Office Building, 301 W High Street, Jefferson City, Missouri.
Why is the work you do in this position important to Missouri? This entry to intermediate level technical position serves Missourians by helping ensure that insurance companies are financially able to pay insurance claims in times of loss. This is achieved by conducting risk- focused financial analysis to identify risks and related controls present in insurers, determine compliance with Missouri statutes and regulations, and assess potential impact on the insurers’ financial condition, on a quarterly basis in conjunction with the examination function.
- Participation in periodic financial analysis, including the evaluation of insurers’ financial operations, risks and controls, corporate governance and management practices, adequate reserving, recorded assets, liabilities, surplus and capital for compliance with statutes, rules, and regulations.
- Perform analysis, identify concerning trends, and recommend further analysis, action plans or regulatory action.
- Obtain any designations required for accreditation or certification and maintain the designations through continuing education.
- In-state and out-of-state travel may be required to assist in Examinations and for training purposes.
What are the qualifications for the position? A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in accounting, insurance, risk management, business, or closely related areas; AND 0-1 years professional or technical experience in areas of insurance accounting/auditing, insurance regulation, statutory risk-focused examination and/or analysis, or other relevant fields.
