Help the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services protect health and keep people safe! The Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) provides a background screening service to employers and families hiring workers to care for children, seniors, or disabled persons. Employers and families may contact the FCSR using a toll-free call center. The FCSR is responsible for registering all child care, elder care, and personal care workers in the state

    • Staff the toll-free call center, assisting callers in obtaining background screening information. This includes providing the results of the background screening to the caller on the telephone, answering questions, and providing referrals as appropriate.
    • Communicate with employers and caregivers regarding the requirements and role of the FCSR and how to obtain information from other units within the Department or other state agencies in order to comply with regulatory requirements.
    • Provide referral resources to callers when needed, such as for locating a caregiver or asking questions about licensing requirements.
    • Review and process registration and background screening requests submitted to the FCSR, including verification that all necessary information has been received per unit policies and procedures. When processing paper forms or taking background screening requests by telephone, accurately enter information into the Background Screening and Employment Eligibility System (BSEES).
    • Assist with the development of policies and procedures, database testing, staff training or other special projects as assigned.

    • You will be working in a multi-team member environment which requires emotional intelligence, experience in exercising autonomy, and the ability to use analytical thinking skills and requires a professional demeanor when interacting with customers.
    • Prior call center experience may be preferred as the ideal candidate will professionally represent the department by effectively communicating with internal and external customers in the FCSR call center.
