Higginsville Habilitation Center is recruiting for a Permanent Part-Time Physical Therapist Assistant to be a part of a highly effective team that makes a difference in the lives of adults with developmental disabilities. HHC is a state operated program within the Department of Mental Health and supports individuals receiving 24/7 services.
The Physical Therapist Assistant must be detail-oriented, work well with others, have good time management skills, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be proficient with Microsoft Excel and other computer programs.
Responsibilities:Will be responsible for active treatment by helping individuals develop, improve, and maintain the skills needed for daily living. Will provide therapy through the use of adaptive devices and equipment, and contributing to therapy plans through recommendation and documentation. Will maintain adaptive equipment and patient documentation. Additional responsibilities could include supervision of Therapeutic Service Workers, scheduling, and/or management of the Therapy Department.
Knowledge: Knowledge of current physical therapy modalities and treatment techniques and of human anatomy and physiology. Ability to observe and record individuals’ progress toward treatment goals and tolerance of treatment activities.
Qualifications:Licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Missouri.
- Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
Schedule:Negotiable: Part-time (non-benefit eligible), permanent part-time (benefit eligible), and full-time options available, dependent on additional responsibilities.
