    Regulatory Relief Office Coordinator

    Strategy & Performance Division

    The Office of Regulatory Relief was established within DED’s Strategy and Performance Division to administer the General Regulatory Sandbox Program. This position will work closely with the Department’s Legislative Director and the Office’s Executive Director.

    • Administer the sandbox program pursuant to Sections 620.3900 to 620.3930, RSMo.

    • Serve as the liaison between private businesses and applicable regulatory agencies to identify state regulations for potential waiver or suspension through the sandbox program.

    • Develop and implement a framework for analyzing the risk level of the health, safety, and financial well-being of consumers and protection of Missouri's environment related to regulation relief.

    • Maintain the regulatory relief application and application platform.

    • Review state laws and regulations that may unnecessarily inhibit the creation and success of new companies or industries and provide recommendations to the Executive Director on modifying and repealing such state laws and regulations.

    • Review, assess and refer applications to appropriate parties within the designated timeframes.

    • Provide timely communication to applicants and agencies.

    • Monitor participant eligibility and adherence to program rules throughout the demonstration period.

    • Coordinate conversations and communicate all information regarding recommendations on final determination of Sandbox participants to necessary parties

    • Routinely convene the Advisory Committee and communicate receipt of Sandbox participant applications, as necessary.

    • Prepare necessary materials for Advisory Committee review.

    • Complete quarterly and annual reporting requirements.

    • Build relationships with other state Sandbox Programs.

    • Propose and enter into reciprocity agreements between states that use or are proposing to use similar regulatory sandbox programs.

    • Assist with other economic and policy research.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Highly skilled at reading and interpreting state laws and regulations.

    • Ability to cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including state officials, legislators, and the general public.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas confidently and professionally.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Eight or more years of relevant experience. This can be obtained through a combination of work experience and completion of a Bachelor's degree in community or economic development, education, public relations, economics, business or public administration, international business, or a closely related area

    • Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis for denying consideration to any applicant
