    Job Location: This position will be located by the determination of the applicant selected. Location is flexible, with a preference given to central Missouri, and will be determined by space available and location of the selected candidate. Frequent travel to central Missouri will be required.

    The Bureau of Special Health Care Needs (SHCN) is seeking qualified candidates to fill a Public Health Program Associate position. This is a highly responsible position in which the individual will assist the Brain Injury Manager in planning, evaluating, and implementing the Adult Brain Injury (ABI) Program, Missouri Brain Injury Advisory Council, and the Traumatic Brain Injury Grant. Responsibilities within this role provide the exciting ability to make a difference in the lives of some of the most vulnerable Missourians while working within a dynamic team.

    • Assist the Brain Injury Manager in planning, evaluating, and implementing the ABI Program and give recommendations to improve efficiency.
    • Assume responsibility, as delegated by the Brain Injury Manager, to assist in the planning, promotion, implementation, and evaluation of the Traumatic Brain Injury Grant.
    • Evaluate and prepare statistical reports regarding the ABI Program for Missouri Brain Injury Advisory Council members.
    • Use word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and other program related computer applications necessary to meet program goals.
    • Provide training, guidance, and technical support to ABI Program staff, local public health agencies, health care providers, and other individuals to facilitate effective implementation of the ABI Program.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Four or more years of experience in a relevant field, or a bachelor's degree; a combination of education and experience may be substituted.
    • Exceptional attention to detail, excellent problem solving skills, a positive attitude, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment are strong qualifications.
    • Ability to work independently, multitask, and demonstrate initiative.
    • Extensive knowledge related to Home and Community Based Services policy, regulation, and statutes is preferred.
    • Ability to travel overnight and work overtime on occasion.
