    The salary range listed reflects the potential compensation based on various factors , including experience, qualifications, and specific roles assigned within the department.

    Job Location: Statewide

    Positions are available in our Jefferson City headquarters and in district offices across the state. District office locations include Springfield, Kansas City, Sikeston, Hannibal, St. Joseph, and St. Louis.

    This job announcement is to recruit and hire for non-degreed positions. Specifically for those applicants that are looking for a fulfilling career without a post-secondary education.

    Missouri has the seventh largest transportation system in the country and MoDOT projects are varied. Entry-level positions require , at a minimum , a high school diploma or GED/ HiSET . There are various positions that may have more requirements to meet the qualifications of the position.

    Based on your work experience, skills, and education, you may be considered for either the entry, intermediate, or senior level titles with in various d ivisions. These titles could include customer service, administrative technician, office assistant, design technician , construction technician , survey, traffic maintenance and more . As you continue to learn, acquire new skills, and gain experience, you can be promoted to a higher-level position.

    What you'll need for success:

    • High School Diploma or GED/HiSET
    • Must be 18 years of age or older

    For Safety Sensitive positions, applicants may be required to complete: (click here for more details about minimum requirements)

    • A passing grade on the written portion of the commercial driver's license (CDL) exam is required prior to hire date. Must pass the driving portion of the CDL exam with tanker endorsement, no air brake restrictions (Class B), and interstate status (either Excepted Interstate [EI] or Non-Excepted Interstate [NI]) within 60 days after being hired into this position.


    • A passing grade on the written portion of the commercial driver’s license (CDL) exam is required prior to the hire date. Must pass the driving portion of the Class A CDL exam with tanker endorsement, no air brake restriction, and interstate status (either Excepted Interstate [EI] or Non-Excepted Interstate [NI]) within 60 days of hire into the position.



    • Pass a cardiopulmonary function test yearly, attend training on the use of respirators, and pass a respirator fit test every six months.



    • OSHA 10-Hour certification required within 90 days.



    • Successful completion of a work simulation or work examination and a medical-physical examination.



    • Assist with snow plowing
