    Austin Resource Recovery ( ARR ) seeks a creative, multi-talented and innovative leader to oversee its digital and creative services team. The Marketing Supervisor - Digital and Creative Services is responsible for supervising and coordinating projects, programs and daily activities for the team that manages the department’s social media platforms, influencer collaboration, web pages, Austin Recycles mobile app, graphic design and other digital and creative services. Primary responsibilities include a full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, counseling and evaluation. This position will provide leadership, guidance and expertise to team members on overall creative and digital communications strategies and campaigns for all ARR internal and external initiatives.

    The successful candidate will be a professional with excellent diplomacy skills, and an empathetic and inclusive work philosophy. They will demonstrate the ability to focus and work well under pressure, including in emergency scenarios and crisis management. They are confident with their communication skills, are highly self-motivated, curious and creative, and a fair leader who develops relationships built on trust.

    Travel: If you are selected for this position, and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.

    Physical Requirements: Tasks may involve bending, lifting, walking, carrying or using a force equal to lifting up to twenty (20) pounds. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    This position is eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness ( PSLF ) Program. This is a federal program designed to encourage individuals to work in public service by forgiving the balance of their federal student loans upon meeting program requirements.

    Pay Range
    $33.49 - $42.71
    Hours
    Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

    Employees may be required to work some early mornings (6:00 a.m.), after hours, or weekends depending on business needs.

    • Experience serving as a digital communications and/or creative services professional.
    • Experience leading a creative process with clients, subject matter experts, content creators and graphic designers.
    • Experience developing and executing behavior change marketing campaigns.
    • Experience supervising a digital communications or creative services team.
    • Ability to travel to more than one work location.
    Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
    Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

    Provides leadership and guidance to online, digital, and social media marketing projects and initiatives ensuring that all activities align with Marketing Communication Plans. Ensures that departmental, Council-mandated, and customer program goals are met. Manages implementation of marketing initiatives and identifies new marketing opportunities. Coordinates all aspects of the development and production of marketing materials. Forecasts, monitors project budgets, and assesses workloads of programs. Develops process flows, creative briefs, and ensures brand governance/compliance. Coordinates and collaborates with stakeholders and vendors. Ensures that external vendors meet quality and financial standards. Coordinates payments of invoices and works with the purchasing department to develop and maintain contracts for large purchases. Provides analytics review of marketing communication campaigns and return on investment ( ROI ). Manage the department’s records throughout the lifecycle in compliance with the City’s Records Management Ordinance.

    City Government
