    Assists primary care providers at Partnership Health Center with the management of clients with mental illness.

    Representative Examples of Work

    Provides adult psychiatric and medication evaluations, prescription services and medication education through routine medication clinics.

    Participates in clinical staffing meetings to provide recommendations for treatment interventions and treatment plan implementations for clients.

    Maintains clinical records.

    Works closely with the medical providers, behavioral health team and the pharmacy team to track adherence and client's response to psychiatric medications.

    Reviews quarterly reports on targeted performance indicators, quality measures and health outcomes to the Medical Director who serves on the Performance Improvement Committee.

    Provides training for support and clinical personnel.

    Performs related duties as required or directed.

    OTHER DUTIES: Performs related duties as required or directed.

    SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer.

    SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None.

    WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Has numerous contacts with the Partnership Health Center Medical Clinic, Dental and Pharmacy Directors, medical providers, and the Director of Innovations. The purpose of these contacts is to work with primary care givers to influence clients with mental illness to comply with health care recommendations.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
    KNOWLEDGE: Considerable knowledge of community based psychiatric treatment of individuals diagnosed with serious emotional disturbance and severe and persistent mental illness. Considerable knowledge of psychotropic medications, crisis intervention and the use of hospital alternative services. Working knowledge of client confidentiality and the ethical and legal requirements of the profession. Working knowledge of the principles and practices of HIPAA compliance. Working knowledge of the PHC Corporate Compliance Guidelines.

    SKILLS: Skill in the use of a personal computer using word processing and database software.

    ABILITIES: Ability to develop therapeutic alliances, perform assessments, diagnose and develop practical treatment approaches for and with consumers who are experiencing symptoms of serious emotional disturbance and severe and persistent mental illness impacting overall health. Ability to relate effectively with administration, consumers and family members and represent Partnership Health Center in a positive manner within the community. Ability to effectively provide training and consultation to a diverse group of professionals. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse individuals and groups. Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both orally and in writing.

    Minimum Qualifications

    EDUCATION: Requires Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution and a license to practice in the State of Montana. Requires current certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) by American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. Requires proof of current prescriptive authority.

    EXPERIENCE: Requires at least one year of experience in a clinical or mental health setting.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS : Requires immunizations or proof of immunity to certain infectious diseases and a TB test. New employees will be asked to volunteer vaccination status for required vaccines upon hire and will be offered assistance during hiring to receive necessary immunizations. Employees who have not received the vaccines required for their positions or who are unwilling to voluntarily provide vaccination status for required vaccines will receive a reasonable accommodation where such accommodation does not require an undue hardship or endanger the health or safely of any person.

    Physical/Environmental Demands

    Works primarily in an office type setting. Requires some evening and weekend work. The employee may risk exposure to communicable diseases. This position does not have a work from home option.

    Excellent Medical Health Benefits- Group health benefits, including dental and vision coverage, are available to eligible County employees. The medical health benefits premium is covered for full-time employees. The County contribution is pro-rated on hours paid for part-time employees. The employee pays the premium portion for dependent coverage. Family health benefits coverage is $258.00 per pay period.

    Medical deductible is $500 for an individual and $1,000 for a family.

    Flexible Benefits Plan- Pre-tax out-of-pocket medical expenses and day care expenses.

    Public Employees Retirement System- Montana public employees of the state, university system, local governments and certain employees of school districts are covered by the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS). New members to the PERS have an opportunity to choose between two retirement plan options: the Defined Benefit Plan or the Defined Contribution Plan.

    Sheriffs' Retirement System (SRS)- A public pension plan for all Montana Sheriffs hired after July 1, 1974 and Detention Officers hired after July 1, 2005.

    Supplemental Retirement Benefitsare offered through Valic or Nationwide.

    Sick Leave- Full-time employees accrue 7.38hours per month and are eligible to use sick leave once you have been an employee for 90 days.The accrual is pro-rated for part-time employees.

    Vacation Leave- Full-time employees accrue 9.24 hours per month and are eligible to use leave after continuous employment for a period of 6 full months. The accrual is pro-rated for part-time employees.

    Holidays- The County observes eleven legal holidays in even numbered years and ten legal holidays in odd numbered years.

    Paid Parental Leave (PPL)-In recognition of the importance of bonding and care of a newborn child or a child placed for adoption, Missoula County 6 continuous weeks of PPL to eligible full-time employees that have been with the county for 180 days. The hours are pro-rated for part-time employees.
