Austin Resource Recovery ( ARR ) is an organization of 500 plus employees that provides residential curbside collection of trash, recycling, and composting to the residents of the Austin metropolitan area. Additional services include bulk and large brush collection, street sweeping, dead animal collection, and a drop-off center for hard-to-recycle items and household hazardous waste.
ARR is seeking a
Training Supervisor position, which is responsible for the management of the Operations Training Unit within the Organizational Development and Training Section in the Human Resources Division at Austin Resource Recovery. This role will manage the equipment and vehicle training program and the COA CDL Training Program initiatives to meet Austin Resource Recovery and City of Austin business needs. This position will work with the Program Compliance Coordinator to ensure the Third-Party Skills Testing ( TPST ) and Entry Level Driver Training ( ELDT ) programs are in compliance with COA policies FMCSA , DPS , and DOT laws and regulations.
Additionally, this role will:
Oversee training needs analysis, identifies training gaps, implements training strategy, and development and delivery of operational training programs. Provide instructors with support in the implementation of training solutions. Track trends and make recommendations regarding training technology. Oversee the development of curriculum and courses. Analyze laws, codes, and policies, and consult with subject matter experts to design and develop curriculum related to trainees’ needs. Provide purchasing process support and product evaluation for the selection of various training materials and programs. Trains and leads instructors. Develops and manages complex training schedules, including regulatory, operational, and commercial driver license ( CDL ) programs, ensuring resources and instructors are appropriately allocated. Oversee administration of training records and databases, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Delivers instructor-led training sessions as needed and provides “train-the-trainer” programs to support consistency and scalability across the team. Prepares reports and training updates for internal and external stakeholders. Evaluates training effectiveness through participant feedback, assessments, and performance metrics; implements continuous improvement strategies based on findings. Provides oversight for Learning Management System ( LMS ) operations, including course creation, user administration, and reporting.

Pay Range
$35.50 - $45.27 per hour
