Position Description: Duties: - Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance and punctuality. Hours are Monday-Friday 8 am - 4:30pm, and some Saturday mornings 8 am - noon (on a rotating basis).
- Assists general public in person, by telephone, and by email requesting information regarding departmental programs, services, policies, processes and procedures.
- Promotes and maintains positive and effective working relationships within the Clerk’s office, with other county offices and departments, in addition to promoting good public relationships as a representative of Licking County Government.
- Processes vehicle titling.
- Processes watercraft titling and registration.
- Conducts research in relation to public records requests.
- Cashiering of cash, checks, money orders and credit cards.
- Balance cash drawer daily.
- Prepares and maintains records as required; prepares various types of correspondence.
- Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to the essential functions of the position and all agency safety procedures.
- Remains informed of current developments and procedures pertinent to duties; may be required to attend seminars/training.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Program: Title Division
Brief Description: Under general supervision, provides customer service on behalf of the Clerk of Courts; assists public and performs various duties related to departmental operations. Deputy Clerks in the Title Division are responsible for processing vehicle and watercraft titles, cashiering and balancing a cash drawer, providing customer service to the public via telephone, in persona and by e-mail, as well as other duties as assigned. Positions available at the Newark Title office and the Western Licking County Title branches (in Pataskala and / or New Albany).
Job Prerequisites: Minimum Qualifications:Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with a major course work in public administration, business administration or a related field; and 6 - 18 months of experience and/or training in related field
Additional Qualifications (Agency/Dept. Qualifications):Accuracy and efficiency; excellent customer service; ability to maintain positive relationships with co-workers and other departments / offices. Basic computer skills and familiarity with other office equipment / technology; previous experience with titling and / or cashiering preferred. Valid driver’s license is required. Traveling to each of the title offices may be required (as needed).
Compensation: Salary: Starting at $18.00 - $20.00 / hour, dependent upon experience
