    *** We are looking to fill both a full time and a part time Community Services Crew L ead***

    The Community Services Crew Lead performs duties in support of community service case management and community service crews. Work involves individually managing and coordinating a caseload of adults who have been ordered to perform community service by the courts, probation agencies, other Colorado counties, and various municipalities. Oversee physical labor and/or educational activities of adults ordered by the courts to perform meaningful community service . Directly supervise and assist clients with work projects in the field . Operate light and medium work equipment , and responsible for the safety and operation of tools and equipment assigned to clients .

    Part Time Position - The County Support Services position performs duties in support of community service case management and community service crews.     S a l a r y :

    Hiring Salary: $ 2 4 -$2 8 (1.o FTE) USD Hourly

    Hiring Salary : $20-$23 ( Part Time ) USD Hourly

    Compensation will be determined based on education, experience and skills. Must be able to work weekends with shift differential pay.

    Schedule:

    This position operates on a four-day work week for 10-hour days ( Thursday-Sunday, 7am-5pm ) on-site.

    Part Time Position schedule - This is a part -time, non-benefitted position working on-site as needed Thursday -Sunday 7AM - 5PM . Hours and days may vary weekly based on depa rtment need and no more than 130 hours per calendar month.

    The Ideal Candidate for the Department of Justice Services, Community Services Crew Lead will be someone who possesses the following traits:

    Natural Mechanical Aptitude - Able to operate lawn equipment, hand tools and power tools and impart knowledge to community service clients to build long term skillsets.

    Mentorship - Strong leadership, mentorship, and ability to supervise individuals with empathy.

    Relationship Builder - Ability to establish effective working relationships with the community, government partners and community service clients through project management, problem solving, and value creation.

    Essential Duties:

    • Supervise Client Work:


    • Directly monitor client work in the field on community service crews to ensure the completion of assigned tasks .


    • Confer with on-site personnel, if available, to determine work project needs.


    • Assign work tasks and tools to clients.


    • Assist clients to complete projects, ensuring overall safety of clients .


    • Equipment Operation:


    • Perform pre and post inspections of all tools, vehicles and equipment. Ensure the safe use, accountability and return of tools used by the crews each day. Determine what tools and safety equipment to use for assigned projects. Instruct and teach clients the proper and safe use of tools and equipment. Report any tools, vehicles and/or equipment in need of repair or replacement to supervisor .


    • Establish and maintain meaningful relationships:


    • Coordinate meaningful community service and/or community service crew projects with an emphasis on building skills along with connecting clients to community and government resources focused on supporting pro-social, personal, and professional development.


    • Visit and maintain contact with non-profit, charitable and governmental agencies to examine environments and progress of clients placed and the continued suitability of projects and locations.


    • Communication:


    • Communicate appropriately and in a timely manner over the phone, in person, or via email with various stakeholders as needed.


    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


    Qualifications:

    Minim um Qualifications:

    • HS Diploma or GED


    • Plus, a minimum of one year of related experience


    • OR any combination of education and experience.


    Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Comfortable with operating equipment


    Technical Skillset:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain requirements and document detailed case notes


    • Strong organization with ability to manage multiple cases and priorities

    • Customer centric with a passion to see individuals succeed


    • Thrive in a fast paced, team-oriented environment


    Additional Job Information:

    **Please note: passing a polygraph test is required prior to offer of this role**

    • Random drug testing annually.


    • Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment and a variety of hand tools and power tools.


    • Requires ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently , and/or up to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects.


    • Must have a valid Colorado driver's license. If you possess an out of state license, you must obtain a valid Colorado driver's license within 30 days of hire date .


    • Certification in first aid and CPR within 6 months of date of hire
