We have an exciting opportunity to join our Business Innovation & Technology (BIT) department at Jefferson County as a Business Analyst. The successful candidate will be a team player, self-motivated, and goal oriented. They will have a proven background in identifying customer needs, evaluating innovative solutions, and implementing new technologies .
Business Analysts on our team help shape the role technology plays in government. They act as liaisons with county departments and collaborate with them on digital transformation initiatives to support their strategic goals. They promote a culture of creativity, innovation, value, and exceptional customer experience. They must be dynamic facilitators able to work with a diverse set of projects and teams.

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
- Broad understanding of emerging technologies with a proven ability to evaluate and implement them. Examples of technologies previously implemented include AI-powered chatbots, GIS mapping tools, and business intelligence solutions .
- Effective at building collaborative relationships with both customers and IT teams.
- Ability to translate high-level objectives into actionable plans.
- Skilled communicator across presentations, written materials, and oral discussions.
- Proven ability to create business cases and make recommendations.
- Strong knowledge of the principles and practices of business analysis, business process
improvement, and project management .
SCHEDULE: This position operates on our four-day work week (Monday-Thursday) and is hybrid, with in-office work as needed and in alignment with department and team expectations .
COMPENSATION: Hiring Range: $80,000-$103,000 USD Annually
Compensation will be determined based on education, experience and skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: - Serves as a liaison between the Business Innovation & Technology (BIT) department and other county departments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Analyzes business processes, identifies technology needs, gathers business/technical requirements, recommends solutions, and manages projects.
- Transforms conceptual ideas into concrete outcomes by distilling the requirements and priorities, understanding the problems and providing clear direction to a solution.
- Creates user documentation, establishes standards, and designs and delivers training as necessary.
- Research new and evolving technologies to enhance customer service and improve operational efficiency.
- Manages vendor relationships to ensure quality service and cost-effectiveness.
- Participates in the development of specifications and ongoing management of proposals and contracts for hardware, software, and professional services.
- May train and guide the work of less experienced business analysts.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience: One ( 1 ) years’ experience in a full-time business analyst role or equivalent (IT s olutions, business analysis).
Education: Bachelors Degree
License/Certifications: - Certifications in business analysis, business process improvement, project management, or technology also preferred
*Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
Preferred K nowledge, S kills and A bilities :
- Strongly preferred 3 or more years’ experience in a full-time technology analyst role or equivalent (IT Solutions, business analysis, etc.)
- Government/public sector experience
- Technical interpretation of complex business systems
- Confer with project personnel and customers to provide technical advice, and to assist in problem resolution
- Develop project documentation that effectively communicates to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Analyze, assess, and interpret business requirements to identify effective practices and potential problems
- Identify outdated technologies or methods, offer build-buy alternatives, and implement new solutions quickly with little or no service interruption
- Effectively communicate findings, recommendations, and technical concepts through presentations, reports, and discussions tailored to audiences
Additional Job Information: - Candidates are required to prepare and deliver a presentation and written case study as part of the interview process.
