Job Location: This position will be located at a base location that is flexible within the State of Missouri.

If so, working as a Staff Development Training Specialist may be the ideal way to utilize your unique talents. We are looking for an organized and experienced trainer to join us in Adult Protective Services at the Division of Senior and Disability Services. This position will be responsible for evaluating our training needs and creating and delivering training complete with tutorials and learning resources. The ideal candidate will be a confident public speaker and a devoted educator who is up-to-date on the latest tools and resources needed to improve employee training and performance.
- Conduct training for staff responsible for investigating reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of the elderly (age 60+) and disabled (ages 18+).
- Prepare and conduct training for community partners, stakeholders, and other groups upon request on topics related to Adult Protective Services.
- Work collaboratively with field supervisors, system experts, and policy staff to evaluate training needs and put forth recommendations for enhancing staff skills and abilities.
- Become an expert in the Adult Protective Services electronic case management system to assist in training and serve as a resource for field staff.
- Plan and develop training materials for both in-person training and eLearning modules.
- Depending on base location, frequent travel may be required.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
- Comprehensive knowledge of methods of instruction, preparation of training materials, and techniques involved in the development and administration of training programs.
- Knowledge of Adult Protective Services and experience with curriculum development is preferred.
