    Support Care Assistant (SCA)

    Northwest Community Services is a State of Missouri agency that operates under the Department of Mental Health.

    We are currently recruiting to fill several Support Care Aide positions to work in Individualized Supported Living (ISL)/Waiver homes located in Marshall, Missouri. This is entry level direct care work involving the care and treatment of adults with developmental disabilities.

    Job Duties: Observes, reports, and assists in recording changes in the physical condition, behavioral response, and emotional status of clients; assists in providing basic health care for clients; checks vital signs, and applies simple dressings; maintains a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for client care and treatment activities; administers medication after completing training that is provided by the agency; uses state vehicles to transport clients to appointments and activities; assists clients in participating in activities (fishing, shopping, going to the movies, out to eat etc.); assists clients with meals, bathing, grooming, and other related tasks as needed. Overtime hours are available and/or required.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma/GED
    • Valid Missouri Driver's License
    • Possess adequate hearing
    • Possess adequate vision to read written material
