  • Job Description

    The Missouri Department of Mental Health is dedicated to the prevention, treatment, and public understanding of mental illness and developmental disabilities.     This position can be domiciled Statewide at any Division of Developmental Disabilities Regional Office location.

    This position will work under the direct supervision of a Risk Prevention Area Lead to assess and address barriers that result in at-risk outcomes for people and providers with specialized needs. This includes assisting and overseeing the high-risk transition process, including the sex-offender and forensic process; managing the consumer referral database; providing training and support to providers, including residential, behavioral, and support coordination entities for both the transition process and other risk prevention efforts as they are built. This function will also assist in further development of risk prevention efforts and participate in statewide and area Tiered Supports trainings and meetings. Consultation and assistance will be remote when possible. However, training, meetings, and job duties may require travel at times.

    Expectations

    • Maintain a partnership with providers, and community resource centers (hospitals, shelters, etc.) to improve capacity and services for at-risk individuals living in the community through
    • Assessment of risk (utilizing Tier 2 screener) and systems to prevent risk (utilizing TSSET)
    • Implementation of training, coaching and follow-up related to Tier 2 interventions,
    • Data collection and analysis, and
    • Implementation of tiered supports, specifically at the Tier 2 level
    • Conduct data collection for work efforts such as workgroups, committees, training projects, and other efforts as assigned.
    • Assist Risk Prevention Area Lead to report data of at-risk outcomes and targeted systems of support to various stakeholders including Division staff, contracted agencies, and individual teams.
    • Assist and facilitate training opportunities to Division central and regional-office staff and conduct follow-up assessment and coaching.
    • Provide consultation to teams supporting individuals that are deemed at-risk.
    • Engage in and maintain cooperative and collaborative relationships, as in Tools of Choice, with division staff, (i. e. in an interdisciplinary model with TCM entities, nursing staff, quality enhancement, provider relations, administration Agency Tiered Supports Consultants, and service providers etc.), and all stakeholders.
    • Follow required procedures and guidelines for division employees.
    • Maintain and promote philosophically and in practice fidelity to the directions, vision and model held by the Director of the Division, the Regional Directors, and the Risk Prevention State Lead.
    • Complete reviews, consultations, assigned projects, reports and other documentation in a timely and thorough manner.
    • Maintain proficiency and accuracy of written and verbal communication with a balance of tact and assertiveness.
    • Maintains technical knowledge of information management systems, which includes but is not limited to Share Point documents and lists.
    • Communicates information clearly and effectively through verbal discussions and written documents.
    • Submits an annual compliance report of registered sex offenders per DOR 4.720.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Complete assignments from supervisor accurately and on-time.
    • Respond in a timely manner to inquiries, requests for assistance, crisis situations and assignments from internal and external stakeholders and develop and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders.
    • Follow required procedures and guidelines for division employees.
    • Work respectfully within the chain of authority to make suggestions or provide input to regional directors, Division supervisors or provider agencies.
    • Maintain a problem solving, positive attitude, demeanor throughout all work relationships and communications.
    • Complete reviews, consultations, assigned projects, reports and other documentation in a timely and thorough manner.


    One or more years of experience as a Developmental Disabilities Community Worker II and/or as a Case Manager II, OR have a bachelor’s degree in behavior analysis, psychology, or a related field and two or more years of experience in a related field. Must be a Registered Behavioral Technician, or willing to become one once hired.
