    The Position

    Emergency Medical Services Representatives promote and regulate the quality of pre-hospital care through inspection and permitting of ambulance services, licensure of attendants, and coordination of emergency medical training.

    The Emergency Medical Services Representative II performs the range of duties described above and in addition, is responsible for developing and implementing Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic training statewide.

    The Division of Public and Behavioral Health; Emergency Medical Systems program is recruiting for an Emergency Medical Services Rep 2, located in Carson. This position will assist agencies with compliance certifications, licenses and permit applications; inspections and training; technical assistance on service meetings, boards and program development; and sharing pertinent information to agencies and the public. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of experience in emergency medical services or closely related field, one year of which was in a medical regulatory capacity or as a supervisor with a licensed ambulance service or related governmental entity; OR one year of experience as an Emergency Medical Services Representative I with the State of Nevada; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview.     Today, Nevada is the nation's seventh largest state in land area. Several hundred mountain ranges cross its landscape, many with elevations over 10,000 feet. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
