The City of Burlingame currently has one opening for a Library Analytics Intern I/II.
Under general supervision of Library staff, the City of Burlingame's Library department is seeking an Analytics Intern who will assist in the development and implementation of an automated analytics reporting solution. The ultimate goal is the creation of a dashboard to drive transparency and data-driven decision-making at the Library. An outside consultant will provide technical expertise to support this project, including scoping, architecture, and guidance of intern throughout the summer project. This is a part-time internship designed specifically for the Burlingame Library with limited hours over an 8-week period.
Essential Duties:Under supervision:
- Develop pipelines to pull data from various library systems using Excel or other tools available (python, Microsoft data flows, etc.)
- Clean, analyze, and aggregate data for reporting
- Build visualizations in reporting suite using business intelligence tool (Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent).
- Present updates to library staff and other stakeholders

- Detail oriented with the ability to follow projects through to completion

- Background working with data in a professional or academic setting (Excel, python, Microsoft tools preferred).
Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must be a Junior or Senior in college working toward a Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field (statistics, economics, computer science, data science, etc.). Or a related field or currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program in a quantitative field (statistics, economics, computer science, data science, etc.t or related field.
Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 scale.
