The Wake County Childcare Subsidy team is currently seeking a Bilingual Economic Benefits Technician customer service superstar who excels in a fast-paced environment with great attention to detail and accuracy to complete our hard-working team of community supporters.
Our ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Spanish, have proficient Excel skills along with strong accuracy with data entry, a customer-first attitude, and a desire to help others. Applicants with NCFAST experience or those who have taken an NCFAST Income Maintenance Caseworker class at a local North Carolina Community College are encouraged to apply.
In this role you will assist residents applying for childcare subsidy support by;
- Obtaining general client information relative to childcare subsidy needs
- Assisting clients with scanning dropped-off information into the document management system
- Entering client demographic data into Excel and Word spreadsheets to track data
- Entering client demographic data into NCFAST
- Scanning documents into OnBase (document management system)
- Directing clients to community resources, and assisting with providing or recommending referrals to partnering agencies when needed

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - High school diploma or GED
- One year of experience in human services
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Spanish and English fluency (bilingual) written and spoken
- Proficient in NC FAST and OnBase/PRIME (document management) software
- Current experience providing customer service to clients accessing services within a State or County Department of Social Services
- Customer Service excellence
- Excel proficiency
How Will We Know You're 'The One'? - General knowledge of Economic Services/Social Services programs provided by a State or County Department of Health and Human Services
- Knowledge of Wake County’s Human Services Department policy and procedures
- Strong communication skills including interviewing and customer service skills including the ability to convey information clearly and concisely to groups or individuals either verbally or in writing to ensure that they understand the information and the message and the ability to listens and respond appropriately to others
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with great attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable in an environment with frequent changes
- Proficient with basic computer skills and the aptitude to learn new software
