Staff Development Training Manager Human Resource Center

The Human Resource Center (HRC) has an exciting opportunity for a Staff Development Training Manager to join our team. This position is located in Jefferson City and offers the opportunity to create and facilitate various trainings across the State of Missouri to a variety of audiences. Travel will be required 25% percent of the time.Why you’ll love this position: The Staff Development Training Manager will be responsible for evaluating department needs and current practices and creating and delivering a training development plan with materials, tutorials, instructions, and learning resources such as online modules and guides. The ideal candidate is a confident public speaker and a devoted educator who is up-to-date on the latest tools and resources to improve employee training and performance. This position will also be responsible for researching and selecting the best platform to deliver and utilize training materials. What you’ll do: - Coordinate or direct a comprehensive statewide staff training and development program.
- Collaborate with statewide training professionals to support each other and the professional development of the Department of Social Services training team.
- Identify statewide staff training and development by conducting needs assessments and consultation.
- Establish priorities and objectives for the statewide operation of staff training and development programs.
- Plan, design, develop, market, schedule, and deliver training content.
- Assist with the implementation of human resource initiatives; establish and interpret training policies and procedures; formulate recommendations that provide effective training and professional development; and ensure department compliance with the Leadership Development Rule (LDR).
All you need for success: Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.) Lack of post - secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Excel, Canva, Kahoot!, Poll Everywhere, Webex and Teams.
- Comfortable speaking publicly for in-person and virtual presentations.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience and knowledge of training methods and techniques.
- A passion for continuous learning.
- Exceptional listening and team collaboration skills.
- Experience with formal training and/or educating adult learners.
Special Requirements: - Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to drive and travel throughout the state of Missouri including overnight stays two to three days a week to conduct training and attend meetings.
- Ability to conduct training sessions that last up to 8 hours.
- Ability to carry up to 40 pounds of training equipment/materials.
