The City of Ventura is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused
IT Customer Support Technician to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to provide primary information technology support to the City of Ventura Fire Department, with secondary support to the Police Department and other city departments. We're looking for collaborative individuals passionate about delivering exceptional customer service in a dynamic environment.
The Information TechnologyCustomer SupportTeam maintains the City of Ventura’s workstations, peripherals, mobile devices, account administration and supports enterprise applications such as Microsoft Office 365. The team responds to an ongoing volume of customer incidents, requests and internal provisioning tickets, with the goal of providing customers with current equipment, up-to-date systems and outstanding customer service.
A New Opportunity and what you’ll do...As an IT Customer Support Technician, you will work closely with other City staff members to resolve desktop, laptop/tablet, network printer and software incident and service requests. Your responsibilities include desktop support, end user support, troubleshooting computer equipment, conducting research, resolving end user application issues, resolving connectivity problems and responding to customers because of unforeseen events.

Experience and Qualifications for Success!Information Technology Customer Support Technician I requires a combination of education, experience and training equivalent to completion of high school supplemented by
two years of college level coursework in information/computer science or a related field.
OR completion of a specialized training program in information/computer science, is required.
One year of information system experience including working on a variety of software may be substituted for specialized training in information/computer science.
Information Technology Customer Support Technician II requires
18 months of increasingly responsible information services and computer support experience equivalent to that of an Information Technology Customer Support Technician I with the City of Ventura, including installation and maintenance activities and working with a variety of software programs.
License: Depending on assignment, possession of a valid California Class C driver license may be required.
Certificate: Possession of relevant and current information services industry recognized certifications are desirable.
Both levels are required to undergo and successfully complete an extensive post-offer Police Department background investigation.
