OverviewThe Assessor's Office is hiring! We are looking for a limited-term
Data Collector.
The Data Collector position focuses on collecting site and improvement data, which appraisers analyze to determine property values. Data Collectors spend much of their time in the field measuring homes, collecting site-specific data, and communicating with property owners at their doorsteps. They then enter the data, including building footprint drawings, into the software used by the Assessor’s Office.
It’s an ideal position for someone who enjoys a mix of fieldwork, technology, and meaningful community engagement.
This is a
limited-term position, meaning its duration depends on available funding or business needs. While limited-term employees are eligible for County benefits, the position does not guarantee long-term employment.
The typical schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM.
ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll be doing:
- Collecting data through visual inspections, including sketching building exteriors, measuring properties, and photographing sites.
- Entering data related to property additions, completions, zoning changes, and site use updates.
- Researching and identifying blueprints, maps, plans, surveys, and other resources to assist appraisal staff.
- Conducting field inspections of single-family residential properties and ancillary structures in response to appeals or special requests.
- Adhering to the County’s vehicle usage policy; County vehicles used by the Assessor’s Office are equipped with GPS to enhance safety and data collection.
- Recording and maintaining detailed property attribute information, including creating building footprints.
