Full-time position available with the Fire Department, Financial Services Division located at 635 Woodland Ave
Salary Range: $22.52-$33.78/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related subject area; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience.
Qualifications
- Prepares vouchers, requisitions and purchase orders for over 25 separate KCFD internal departments.
- Works with Procurement to establish and set up all requisition requests, purchase orders for the Department.
- Receives revenue in excess of $35 million in the form of cash, checks, ACH's from customers and/or other jurisdiction.
- Collections range from fire protection and dispatch services to fire guard along with Ambulance Transport Billings as recorded collections deposits.
- Verifies deposits through the City's banking system, at which time entries for collections to the corresponding accounts string within the Department.
- Assembles fiscal information for the establishment of the departmental annual budget and CAFER reporting.
- Works within KCFD Department personnel to establish Grant contracts.
- Sets up Grants within the Peoplesoft system.
- Tracks and maintains expenses and tracks and enters received funding from the Grants.
- Completes all financial reporting for all of the KCFD Grants.
- Works with internal and external Auditors.

The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
