OverviewLarimer County Department of Natural Resources is seeking a skilled and talented individual to join our team as an Natural Resources Technician! We are looking for a knowledgeable and friendly person to assist with natural resource management, monitoring, and data collection.
Our mission is to establish, protect, and manage significant regional parks and open lands by providing quality outdoor recreational opportunities and stewardship of natural resource values. We are committed to fostering a sense of community and appreciation for the natural and agricultural heritage of Larimer County for present and future generations.
This full-time temporary position is expected to last up to six months, with a Monday-Friday schedule.

ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll be doing:
- Assisting the conservation easement monitoring program through monitoring and report writing.
- Supporting vegetation and wildlife monitoring efforts on open space properties.
- Supporting various ecological restoration efforts.
- Following established field procedures.
- Providing general office support.

What we're looking for:
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Have experience with field data collection.
- Analyze and evaluate field data to create reports.
- Have an understanding of local plant and wildlife communities, conservation biology, threatened and endangered species, and natural ecosystem processes.
- Use specific computer software applications including ArcGIS, Collector, or ArcGIS Pro.

- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- One (1) year of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties, such as experience working with volunteers, landowners, contacting the public, or customer service, required.
- Associate's degree, or equivalent education, from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Natural Resource Management, Biology, Ecology, or a related field required.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License by date of hire required.
