    The Position

    This recruitment is being conducted to fill one regular, full-time vacancy for the position of Volunteer Program Coordinator (Bilingual Spanish Required) for the UC Cooperative Extension at Napa County. The list established by this recruitment may also be used to fill future full-time, part-time, limited term, and extra help vacancies for up to one year.

    University of California (UC) Cooperative Extension is part of the national Land Grant system, where selected public institutions of higher learning are charged with providing practical education to the general public through various outreach efforts. Our collaboration with Napa County and the Agricultural Commissioner's Office is one of those outreach efforts. Our mission is to serve Napa County residents through the creation, development and extension of knowledge in agriculture, natural resources, youth development, and family and consumer sciences.     The Volunteer Program Coordinator assists with the development, coordination, delivery, and publicity of University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) educational programs. The Volunteer Program Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the UCCE Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) Advisors and program analysts with UCCE academic and volunteer programs, including the Master Gardner and 4-H Programs.

    • $33.79 (Step 1) - $40.13 (Step 5)

    Position Requirements:
    This recruitment requires the ability to speak Spanish fluently for the current vacancy. The selected candidate must be able to successfully pass Napa County's Bilingual Spanish testing Level 1 before being awarded the full-time position.

    To qualify for the Volunteer Program Coordinator classification, an individual must possess any combination of experience and education that be would likely produce the required knowledge and abilities. A desirable combination is:

    SALARY -
    Salaries are based on a five-step range. Appointments are usually made at the beginning step with advances occurring at six months and the completion of each year thereafter. Salary rates are reviewed annually.

    A general law county, Napa County is governed by a five-member Board of Supervisors elected by district for four year terms. The Board of Supervisors appoints a County Executive Officer who is responsible for providing overall management for the County’s operations, including day-to-day supervision of the County’s appointed department heads.
