Staff Development Training Manager 2041 E. Hunter Street, Nevada, MO Annual Salary: $66,207.65 (Pay Grade G13)Date: March 21, 2025The Missouri Department of Mental Health has an opening for a Staff Development Training Manager at Southwest Community Services located in Nevada. The working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Responsibilities: This is a training and development supervisor/manager position responsible for coordinating and developing policies and administrative procedures related to the operation of a training program. Employees work includes assessing, identifying and managing approved training programs. Employees may provide oversight and daily supervision, direction and delegation of work to training instructors who are assigned to specialized training duties, and have input into setting a budget. Employees may also participate in training design and instruction and are accountable for the work performance of training staff and compliance with established objectives. Supervision of staff includes making hiring recommendations; providing training; planning and reviewing assignments, assessing performance, coaching, and progressive discipline. Supervision at this level also requires these employees to have the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen.
Knowledge, skills & abilities: Knowledge of various training tools. Ability to lead discussions and instruct participants in training classes using a variety of instructional techniques. Knowledge of media used to deliver training. Skills in training instruction and presentation. Skills in coaching initiatives for individuals and groups in classroom setting. Ability to stay abreast of training needs. Knowledge of instructional design methods and development of necessary materials. Ability to make recommendations for training changes and implement them as approved. Knowledge of the methods and techniques involved in the coordination and management of a training program. Ability to plan, direct and evaluate staff and their responsibilities.
Typical qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
