The Position
Clinical Program Managers plan, organize, implement and direct one or more mental health, intellectual disabilities, and/or child development service delivery programs by establishing goals, objectives, policies, and procedures; monitoring and evaluating program performance; developing and monitoring budgets; integrating programs with other state and community services; and supervising clinical and administrative staff, typically including licensed Psychologists and/or subordinate supervisors of professional clinicians.
Clinical Program Manager II's work in a single program or cluster of programs, which are relatively large and complex.
The Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is seeking applicants for a Clinical Program Manager 2. The Clinical Program Manager 2 position will manage and oversee Desert Willow Treatment Center inpatient psychiatric hospital in Las Vegas. Desert Willow Treatment Center is a locked 54 bed psychiatric hospital licensed by Health Care Quality and Compliance and accredited by the Joint Commission. Desert Willow Treatment Center is the only state-run pediatric hospital that provides comprehensive mental health treatment to children and adolescent throughout the state. These programs provide psychiatric care to the most severely emotionally disturbed youth. Clinical Program Manager 2's work in a single program or cluster of programs, which are relatively large and complex. This position ensures compliance with State and Federal laws and funding sources, monitors the quality of mental health services rendered, and develops improvement processes, policies, and procedures. This position participates as a member of the Statewide Mental Health Management Team and leads an internal management team. The Clinical Program Manager 2 position will be responsible for management of all program components of the Center to include psychiatric and medical services, nursing, clinical and social work services. The children and youth served in children's mental health programs with DCFS have complex behavioral needs with multisystem involvement, requiring high intensity intervention and quality programs. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in clinical psychology, clinical social work, counseling, or a curriculum related to the option(s) identified, and four years of post-Master's degree professional experience in a human service delivery setting two of which included the development, management and/or oversight of program budgets, and one of which included supervision of professionals in the option(s) identified; OR a Doctoral degree (Ph.D or Psy.D) from an accredited college or university in clinical psychology clinical social work, counseling, or a curriculum related to the option(s) identified and three years of experience as described above, two of which included the development, management and/or oversight of program budgets and one of which included supervision of professionals in the option(s) identified; OR two years of experience as a Clinical Program Manager I in Nevada State service. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. Additional Position Criteria The incumbent must be licensed in the State of Nevada as a Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical Professional Counselor or Psychologist. Show moreThe presence of Nevada's earliest inhabitants, beginning about 12,400 years ago, is marked by many petroglyphs and archaeological sites. Baskets, decoys, and ingenious traps are evidence of the resourcefulness of these early people in a harsh and arid environment.
European explorers traveled through Nevada in the early 19th century, but it was not until 1851 that the first settlements were established. An Act of Congress created the Territory of Nevada on March 2, 1861. James W. Nye of New York was appointed Nevada's first Territorial Governor by President Abraham Lincoln later that year. On October 31, 1864, President Lincoln proclaimed Nevada's admission to the Union as the 36th state. The State's first elected Governor, Henry Blasdel, took office on December 5, 1864.
Today, Nevada is the nation's seventh largest state in land area. Several hundred mountain ranges cross its landscape, many with elevations over 10,000 feet. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
The Nevada Legislature has honored the State's natural resources and cultural heritage with a variety of State designations described below.
