    Job Summary

    Do you love being outside in the summer?

    This is a high-paced and dynamic position that will require accurate cash handling, great customer service skills, and a positive attitude. Your days will fly by and you will meet a lot of visitors at Davis Camp.

    Mohave County Public Works Parks Division is looking to hire a Davis Camp Summer Assistant.

    Davis Camp is located on HWY 68 and McCormick Blvd. in Bullhead City, AZ.

    The process of Davis Camp becoming a park started in 1982 when the Bureau of Reclamation, together with National Park Service and the Arizona State Parks Board, commenced turning control of Davis Camp over to Mohave County. Davis Camp Park opened to the public as a County Regional Park in 1983. At its peak, in 1948, Davis Camp consisted of approximately 100 homes; by 1970, only 32 to 33 houses remained. In the late 1980’s, restroom shower buildings, a boat launch, ramadas, a concession stand, and a parking area were added. The most recent addition was the park amphitheater in 2010 located at the south beach area.

    Starting Salary, $15.00 /hr.

    • Varying shifts and days off based on other staff schedules.
    • Non-benefits eligible position.
    • This position will get to work directly with park visitors at our Ranger Station, where they will help our guests with purchasing day use or summer weekend passes and making reservations.
    • Work on Parks Special Events and the Mohave County Fair.
    • Travel with other Park Staff in a Mohave County vehicle from Bullhead City to Kingman County Fair to join the Fair Team for 2-3 weeks in September.
    • At times working in a temperature controlled booth.
    • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including strong winds, extreme heat.
    • Involves exposure to exhaust and chemical fumes, oil, grease, hazardous materials, and loud noises from vehicles.
    • This position requires an equal amount of time spent standing, walking, sitting, including climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, bending, and confined spaces.


    Essential Job Functions

    • Assists with various simple to complex administrative tasks and/or work assignments to maintain efficient administrative operations of the department using independent judgment or under general direction of the supervisor.
    • Operates common office equipment and software programs necessary to complete work assignments.
    • Meets established deadlines and informs concerned parties of deadlines and/or updates on projects or assignments.
    • May provide customer service to the public, departments and/or other agencies either by phone, email, or in person in response to questions, provide requested information, or direct queries to appropriate individuals and/or departments.
    • Prepares related correspondence documents, forms, letters and reports.
    • Compiles data and prepares assigned reports and/or statements.
    • Communicates and acts in a professional manner with the public, co-workers, and work contacts.


    Minimum Qualifications

    Required Minimum Education, Experience, and Training:
    • Most Clerical Temporary positions require a High School Diploma or GED, and clerical/office support or specific experience in the assigned area.
    • OR an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered in meeting the minimum qualifications.


    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • English, grammar, spelling, and mathematics.
    • Filing and information systems and retention/destruction schedules.
    • Standard computer use and associated software applications including spreadsheets and word processing.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
    • Operation of modern office equipment (i.e. personal computers and keyboards, fax machines, telephones, adding machines, calculators, etc.)
    • Interpret and apply technical and departmental information as to complete work assignments.
    • Understand and carry out simple to complex written and oral instructions.
    • Follow directions and work independently and/or in a team to complete routine tasks or special projects.


    Mohave County's PTO is compliant with A.R.S. 23-371 requirements.

Las Vegas is only 90 minutes from Kingman with a bypass to tour the historic Hoover Dam.
