GENERAL DESCRIPTION :
Under the direction of the Assistant Food Service Manager, this position performs highly complex food service work. Responsible for serving food and/or beverages at the Black Bear Restaurant. Responsibilities include greeting and seating guests, taking food orders, placing orders with kitchen, cleaning and setting up tables. Assists with food preparation, dishwashing and other food service-related duties. Provides support as a cashier and is responsible for accuracy and reporting of revenue collected from guests. Works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.
Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education :
High School Diploma or GED
Experience :
Food Service Worker II Six months experience as a food service worker in a full-service restaurant.
Food Service Worker III One year experience as a food service worker in a full-service restaurant.
Licensure :
Must possess a valid State driver's license.
Within 30 days of employment obtain Food Handlers Certification.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
Knowledge of basic restaurant operations including food preparation, inventory of grocery supplies, safe food temperatures and health regulation compliance and serving guests.
Knowledge of basic mathematics.
Skill in using MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
Skill in effective verbal and written communication.
Skill in providing quality customer service in a courteous and professional manner.
Skill in serving food/beverages to restaurant customers in a timely and orderly manner.
Ability to take food/beverage orders from customers.
Ability to convey orders to kitchen and deliver food/beverages to customers as ordered.
Ability to use wait staff Preset Posting Machine.
Ability to accurately handle cash and account for all revenue collected.
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.

WORKING CONDITIONS :
Required to work 40 hours per week, includes flexible/various schedules with hours other than 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and days off other than Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
Required to adjust to changing schedules and work split shifts.
Required to perform manual labor including, lifting supplies and materials up to 30 lbs.
This position is authorized to accept gratuities in accordance with Parks and Wildlife Code, Section 11.0262.
May be required to operate a State vehicle.
Required to travel 5% with possible overnight stays.
