ABOUT THE POSITIONThe Clark County Water Reclamation District is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the WRD Project Planner Scheduler position. This position will be primarily responsible for:
- Working with and communicating efficiently with the different trades to help with existing work orders, specifically with mechanical maintenance; including communication with vendors, requesting quotes, entering purchase requests, coordinating work activities sometimes between different trades and vendors, researching drawings, technical manuals, etc. and providing updates to the manager, supervisor and/or lead.
- Evaluating and reviewing existing work orders and planning necessary functions to ensure the work can be performed efficiently and without job delays due to material, tools, skill sets or labor issues when this work is scheduled; may include visiting the job site to gather and verify required information.
- Accurately updating various information into the computerized maintenance management system (Maximo), including information in the work order, service requests, work and communication logs, purchase requests, preventive maintenance, job plans, assets, item master, routes, person groups, etc.
- Working with staff to optimize maintenance by ensuring changes and updates are recorded into the CMMS system (Maximo), including updates relating to material, resources, scheduling and job tasks; Understanding how these changes will affect the Start Centers and how to update data to populate these; Attending meetings as required for coordination with the assigned trades.
- Working with internal employees and different vendors to coordinate material and support needs for existing work orders; Following up and working to ensure the necessary information, material, support, etc. is coordinated and aware of the plan and work needed.
- Retrieving data from the CMMS system (Maximo) and working with this data to provide answers, work history, changes to planning steps, checking inventory balances for job requirements; familiarity with various applications within Maximo to know where data resides; Using existing knowledge of various maintenance tasks to develop recommendations to improve reliability and efficiency.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation and Experience: Equivalent to graduation from high school AND six (6) years of full-time journey level work in collection systems, facilities, plant construction, plant operations, or maintenance and repair, one (1) year of which was in a supervisory or lead role. Professional level experience and/or education that has provided the skills and knowledge necessary to perform all job functions at this level may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the "Education" and "Work Experience" sections of the application. Do not substitute a resume for your application or write "see attached resume" on your application. Working Conditions : Work evening, night, weekend and holiday shifts. Work extended shifts or be called back in emergency situations. May work outdoors in all weather conditions. May work in construction environments involving dust, noise, and fumes.
Licensing and Certification : Must possess a valid Class C Nevada Driver's License at time of appointment. Specific positions may require either a Class A or Class B Nevada Driver's License with a tanker endorsement. Possession of a valid Nevada Water Environment Association (NWEA) Plant Mechanical Technologist Certification, or Collection Systems Operator Certification, or Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certification, depending on area of assignment is desirable. Reciprocity for equivalent certifications from other states may be considered.
Some positions may require a crane operator's certification through the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operator's (NCCCO) within twenty-four (24) months from the date of hire.
Background Investigation : Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.
Medical Examination : Employment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination performed by our examining physician.
Pre-Employment Drug Testing : Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre- employment drug examination.
