DescriptionThis responsible position performs a variety of specialized clerical and record keeping functions, work directly with, and assist the SCIBRS Manager in all aspects of the SCIBRS Unit.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 31, 2025 - Review begins immediately Duties and ResponsibilitiesDuties include but are not limited to entering and retrieving data from RMS system. Correcting IBR codes on incident and arrest reports. Ensures the completeness and accuracy of all materials to be achieved. Demonstrate an understanding of SCIBRS repository and statistical reports to train others on proper reporting of statistical crime data. Handle telephone calls and assist with validation errors in a professional manner. Exhibit strong interpersonal skills. Must communicate procedures to law enforcement in both a business and classroom setting. Assisting Sheriff personnel with validation errors, auditing incident reports, sending emails for corrections, providing requested information to Sheriff’s Office Personnel and SLED. Ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal reporting standards and facilitating timely data submission to the FBI. Assist the SCIBRS Manager with all duties and responsibilities. Will be required to attend all training courses for SCIBRS or related systems. Other duties include typing, data entry, and filing.
Minimum QualificationsREQUIREMENTS: A qualified applicant must (1) be a U.S. citizen, (2) possess a high school diploma (from an accredited school) or GED (3) must have a valid SC driver’s license or the ability to obtain a South Carolina one upon acceptance of the position (4) be able to accurately perform clerical tasks of a repetitive nature (5) 2 to 3 years’ experience in Incident-Based Reporting (IBR) coding and a Records Management System. (6) be able to operate a personal computer using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), the internet, JMS, RMS, and NCIC (7) be able to always interact with all individuals in a professional and courteous manner and (8) be able to obtain NCIC certification within six months of selection.
