The hiring range for the Entry Level Coach is
$14.81- $16.00, depending on qualifications and experience.
The hiring range for Coach I is
$16.01 - $17.07, depending on qualifications and experience.
The hiring range for Coach II is
$17.08 - $20.00, depending on qualifications and experience.
Position will remain open until filled. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Entry Level Coach: - Assist with oversight of instruction and implementation of lessons and training for participants.
- Assist with inspection of the environment and equipment to ensure safety.
- Assist with completion of administrative tasks including skill assessments, attendance, class evaluations.
- Ensures that the only people in the environment during team practices are registered team members.
- Assist with coordination of car-pooling to meets, recruiting necessary volunteers to assist with activities and meets.
- Attends CARA meetings as scheduled.
- Attends meets held at facilities other than those of the City of Loveland.
- Assist with scheduling practice plans and meets.
Coach I: - Instructs participants, develops and implements lesson/training plans.

Coach II: - Head Track Coach duties
- Ensures practices for all disciplines have proper and meaningful plans and are executed.
- Oversees all practice sessions.
- Main point of contact for communication.
- Train, supervise assistant coaches, staff and volunteers.
- Other personnel management duties as required to maintain a cohesive, successful staff.
- Instructs participants, develops and implements lesson/training plans.
- Inspects environment and equipment to ensure safety.
- Completes administrative tasks including skill assessments, attendance, class evaluations.
- Supervises practice sessions and ensures administrative duties are completed.
- Ensures that the only people in the environment during team practices are registered team members.
- Coordinates car-pooling to meets, recruits necessary volunteers to assist with activities and meets.
- Attends CARA meetings as scheduled.
- Attends meets held at facilities other than those of the City of Loveland.
- Schedules practice plans and meets.
Other Job Functions: - Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Entry Level Coach: - Some course work in recreation, education or related field preferred.
- Some experience coaching Track and Field preferred.
Coach I: - Some course work in recreation, education or related field preferred.
- Some experience coaching Track and Field preferred.
- 1 year participation and strong knowledge of rules and regulations of track and field required.
Coach II: - High School Graduate or GED required.
- Some course work in recreation, education or related field preferred.
- 2 years participation and strong knowledge of rules and regulations of track and field required.
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age at time of hire.
Certifications: - First Aid/CPR/AED required within 90 days of hire.
- Concussion Training required within 90 days of hire.
- For Coach I a valid driver's license is preferred, for Coach II a valid driver's license is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Must have knowledge of Track and Field .
- Make sound judgments, exercise conflict resolution, and exhibit patience when dealing with stressful and/or disciplinary situations.
- Must interact diplomatically with youth, parents and other staff members.
- Demonstrate good judgment and patience.
- Excellent communication skills are required.
- Work with a diverse group of people effectively and diplomatically.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ensure the safety of all participants by safe and proper usage of equipment and facilities.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions: - Frequent light to moderate physical effort that includes frequent standing or walking or maintaining arms and hands in the same position for repetitive tasks. Frequently works with light objects and light hand tools.
- Frequent exposure to heat and noise along with working outside in the elements.
- Occasional exposure to hazards that are predictable or well protected against.
