The Missouri Department of Social Services Children’s Division is seeking applicants to serve as the Southeast Regional Director. This is highly responsible administrative human services work in the management and coordination of children’s programs in a designation regional area of the Children’s Division.
What you’ll do: 1. The St. Louis Regional Director will be a non-merit position responsible for implementing, directing and evaluating children’s programs in the Southeast circuits of the Department of Social Services Children’s Division.
2. Work includes establishing and maintaining an administrative structure, setting goals and objectives, establishing and interpreting policy and procedures, implementing and evaluating program operations, analyzing management practices, assuring strong clinical practice, developing corrective action plans and other related activities.
3. Work involves directing and advising field support managers and circuit managers in day-to-day activities.
4. This position must be able to work with and develop relationships with community partners throughout the region in efforts to benefit the mission of Children’s Division.
5. This position will also be responsible for coordination of activities and relationships with juvenile court administrators and staff throughout the region.
6. This position requires extensive collaboration with the other regional directors as well as the senior executive team of the Division. Innovation, visionary leadership and effective communication of Division priorities and implementation plans are critical to this role.
7. General direction is received from the Division Director; however, the employee is expected to work with considerable independence and initiative.
All you need for success:Minimum Qualifications - A High School Diploma or High School Equivalent and Nine or more years of professional experience with a public or private agency in the delivery of protective services, including casework/case management in: investigation of abuse or neglect; coordination of foster care, adoptions, and family centered services; treatment/rehabilitation; and/or providing in-home family crisis intervention services, and possession of a valid vehicle operator’s license.

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably a degree in Social Work or comparable human services field; and Five or more years of professional experience with a public or private agency in the delivery of protective services, including casework/case management in: investigation of abuse or neglect; coordination of foster care, adoptions, and family centered services; treatment/rehabilitation; and/or providing in-home family crisis intervention services, and possession of a valid vehicle operator’s license.
(A combination of earned credit hours from an accredited college or university in the preferred fields such as social work, family and child development, special education, psychology, sociology, or related behavioral sciences and experience described may substitute for the stated qualifications. 30 credit hours are equivalent to 1 year of experience. Professional experience as described must be of a substantial period of time (over 50% of time)).
