As the team lead, you will have the opportunity to be an integral part of ensuring all babies born in Missouri are screened for hearing loss, those identified through screening receive timely diagnostic evaluation, and those diagnosed receive early intervention to achieve optimal language outcomes.
This position is located within the Bureau of Genetics and Healthy Childhood. The Bureau strives to assist Missouri families to reach their full potential through programs that focus on prevention, education and awareness.
- Serve as subject matter expert and team lead, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Missouri Newborn Hearing Screening Program.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of two federal grants and two contracts.
- Supervise two program staff including establishing clear roles, responsibilities, expectations, and fostering professional development to expand staff knowledge.
- Oversee data collection and analysis to maintain and enhance the Program's data surveillance system.
- Coordinate and collaborate with community-based, state, and federal partners to carry out program activities in alignment with state laws and regulations.
- Assure continuous quality improvement.
- Provide consultation, technical assistance, and education to department staff, other agencies, health care professionals, and individuals regarding newborn hearing screening.

Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree and 6 or more years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position. (Substitutions may be allowed) Desiring applicants with a background in audiology, speech language pathology, nursing or similar experience.
- Experience with managing grants and contracts is preferred.
- Ability to exercise significant independence and initiative in performing job duties with consistent use of excellent critical thinking skills.
- Professional communication skills, verbal and written.
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to effectively lead a team and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Public speaking skills, the ability to engage community partners, and strengthen stakeholder relationships.
- Proven success doing both independent work and being part of a team experience.
- Awareness of quality assurance activities for the purpose of evaluating and improving processes.
- Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail.
- Experience developing reports, correspondence, and presentations.
