Why you’ll love this position:The Program Specialist is a second-level professional position, within the Section for Patient and Application Services' Section Development Unit. A successful candidate will possess skills to manage multiple complex projects; both ongoing and one-time projects based on constitutional implementation of new rules and program services. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to identify and implement updates to existing procedures within the individual units and to maintain continual collaboration in setting and maintaining standard practices as a section. This individual must demonstrate a high level of commitment to maintaining confidentiality, initiative and problem solving, customer service, evolving team dynamics, adapting to change and representing the division through daily workload excellence.
- This position plays a vital role in supporting the section with program building under the guidance of the unit supervisor. Examples of this include: building presentations, creating and managing standard operating procedures (SOP), testing and reviewing systems and processes, and developing usable guidance and procedural documents from combined meeting notes and day-to-day program activities, as well as other routine duties as assigned.
- Continuously evaluate section policies and procedures to recommend process improvements for increased accuracy and consistency.
- Actively research industry and user trends, collaborate with section supervisors to ensure guidelines are consistently followed.
- Serve as section representative and participate in associations, coalitions, or group activities/initiatives for the division.
- Research and design industry and policy specific trainings for section staff to continually improve their working knowledge.
- Collaborate with the systems analyst to c ollect and coordinate data for reports; including development of tracking tools, implementation and training with section staff.
- Ensures the section maintains a Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) and that all staff have knowledge and training on the COOP
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree - Business, Marketing or Communications degree preferred. (Substitutions may be allowed).
- 1-3 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
- Proven experience and advanced skills in Microsoft office Suite or comparable programs. Basic design and formatting experience preferred
- Advanced critical thinking, problem solving and organization skills in written and verbal communications, detailed editing, business and technical writing to be used in internal and public communication development.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate and succeed with all levels of the section.
- Must be adaptable to constant program development, change and improvement.
- Project management experience preferred.
