Primary Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Position Description: The Trauma & EMS Development Navigator plays a critical role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of trauma and emergency medical services across the state. This position is responsible for coordinating statewide initiatives, providing support for the Trauma System at approximately 75% capacity and the EMS System at approximately 25% capacity. The role involves planning, coordinating, and evaluating the development and implementation of trauma and EMS services, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and fostering collaboration among key stakeholders.
Position Responsibilities/Essential Functions:- Design, implement, and present trauma care training programs to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and promote high standards of care.
- Collect and analyze trauma case data, outcomes, and resource utilization, providing recommendations to improve trauma services statewide.
- Collaborate with hospitals, EMS providers, and public health agencies to coordinate trauma care efforts, ensuring a seamless system of care.
- Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers and organizations involved in trauma care, fostering collaboration and data-driven improvements.
- Support and facilitate Regional Trauma Advisory Board meetings across multiple locations, to include collaborating with board chairs and members, preparing agendas and meeting minutes, securing meeting locations, managing the recording of the meetings, coordinating the Secretary of State (SOS) and website posting of committee, council, work-group meetings and other duties as assigned.
- Partner with Trauma departmental leaders to plan, implement, and monitor submissions and awards for Trauma Fund money in accordance with statute and rule.
- Collaborate with Trauma and EMS departmental leadership to plan and implement Oklahoma Trauma and Emergency Response Advisory Council (OTERAC) meetings
EMS Responsibilities (25%): - Design, implement, and evaluate EMS training programs to ensure high standards of care and compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with EMS providers, hospitals, and healthcare organizations to deliver training on regulatory requirements, national standards, and updated protocols.
- Develop and maintain relationships with EMS providers, boards, councils, and task forces to improve awareness and education about EMS services.
- Provide technical assistance and data-driven reports to support the development and training of EMS personnel and systems.
- Being present in the office is an essential function of this job

Minimum Qualifications:Required:- Master’s degree required in communications, business administration, public health and/or a related field.
Preferred: - Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in trauma or public health trauma operations, EMS, or related fields, with experience in program development and administration highly desirable.
Valued Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Strong organization and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Knowledge of federal and state laws and administrative regulations pertaining to Trauma and EMS systems.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to make data-driven recommendations for improving Trauma and EMS services.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to explain health system operations and respond to organizational needs.
- Proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across Trauma and EMS sectors.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:- Work is typically performed in a climate-controlled office setting with moderate noise levels. The position requires long periods of sitting and daily use of a computer and phone.

- Travel, including overnight stays and weekend travel, may be required for meetings and site visits.
