    SENIOR TYPIST-CLERK

    RESTRICTED TO PERMANENT EMPLOYEES OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES WHO HAVE PASSED THEIR INITIAL PROBATION PERIOD AND CURRENTLY HOLD THE TITLE OF SENIOR TYPIST-CLERK.

    *THIS IS NOT A CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION*

    The Internal Services Department is seeking a well-qualified and highly motivated individual to fill the position of Senior Typist Clerk in its Operations Service (OPS), Facilities Management Division (FMD), Custodial Section. This position reports to the Section Manager. The position does skilled typing work and performs highly specialized clerical duties requiring a highly specialized knowledge of a particular function with responsibility for applying proper procedures and for carrying out the work with only general direction.

    Essential Job Functions

    Customer Service & Communication

    Answer calls and respond to emails to assist customers and staff.

    Address and process work order requests efficiently.

    Payroll & Timekeeping

    Prepare timecards for approximately 80 custodial staff each pay period.

    Process timecard corrections to ensure payroll accuracy.

    Administrative Support

    Maintain records and documentation for payroll and scheduling.

    Assist in coordinating daily custodial operations.

    Operational Support

    Enable Custodian Supervisors to focus on core responsibilities such as: Overseeing building cleanliness. Conducting performance evaluations. Managing other supervisory duties.

    Compliance & Efficiency

    Ensure administrative processes align with department policies and compliance requirements.

    Support overall efficiency and smooth operations within the section.
